WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
The Trauma Model Therapy involves a mix of cognitive-behavioral and expressive therapies. It is suitable for a wide range of Axis I and II disorders and addictions, and for the extensive comorbidity common in borderline personality disorder. Treatment techniques will be illustrated through case examples, a role-play and didactic lecture. There will also be time for case consultation and discussion.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
Participants will be given an overview of the Trauma Model of severe psychopathology. Participants will explore the effects of trauma and its relationship to comorbidity. Participants will be provided with the identifying factors related to the core cognitive errors occurring within clients with trauma-related disorders. Participants will be provided with specific treatment techniques through role-playing.

SPEAKERS
COLIN A. ROSS, MD
Colin A. Ross, M.D. is an internationally recognized clinician, author, researcher and speaker on psychological trauma and its consequences. Dr. Ross is the founder of The Ross Institute to provide education, research, consultation and treatment concerning psychological trauma. He is the author of 13 books and 125 papers in professional journals. Dr. Ross has spoken in China, Australia, New Zealand, a number of different European countries, and throughout North America. His book, The Trauma Model (2000), is the foundation of his treatment program.
MELISSA CALDWELL, MS, ATR, LPC
Melissa Caldwell has worked with Dr. Ross since 1993. She is the Executive Clinical Director of The Ross Institute. Melissa is a registered art therapist and a licensed professional counselor. At the Ross Institute,
Melissa provides direct treatment and consultation, training and supervision for Trauma Program staff. She has delivered many workshops throughout North America and maintains and maintains a private practice in Richardson, Texas.
