1. What is the criteria for inpatient treatment?
Forest View provides access to assessment services 24 hours a day 7 days a week. An important part of the assessment process is the opportunity to identify the level of care that would best meet your needs or that of your child/adolescent, parent or significant other. Inpatient treatment is typically recommended when an individual demonstrates a significant potential to harm either themselves or others, and /or deterioration or inability to perform typical daily functions.

2. Do you have outpatient counseling?
Forest View provides access to assessment services 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The assessment process provides an opportunity to identify the level of care that would best meet your needs. If outpatient counseling services are recommended, a referral to Forest View’s affiliate staff or other community provider will be provided.

3. Will you provide referrals for outpatient services?
Referral to outpatient services is available through Forest View’s Assessment and Referral Center. Outpatient services are provided through Forest View’s affiliate staff and other community based providers.

4. What support groups do we have running?
Forest View serves as a host site for Alcoholics Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous and AMISHARE, as well as an eating disorders support group.

5. What insurance do you take?
Forest View Hospital will discuss the patient’s benefits prior to admission. Forest View accepts payment from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid, and most HMO and commercial payers. Private pay options are also available.

6. Do you take Medicare or Medicaid?
Forest View Hospital is an approved provider for Medicare and Medicaid. Your local Community Mental Health Center or other Medicaid gatekeeper may need to be contacted prior to assessment and/or admission.

7. How young of a child do you admit?
Forest View routinely admits children as young as age 9. Requests for admission of children younger than 9 are evaluated on an individual basis.

8. What are the assessment hours?
Assessments at Forest View are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including weekends and holidays. The initial assessment is provided without a fee to the patient or family.

9. How long would I be hospitalized?
The length of stay at Forest View is determined by the severity of your symptoms, progress toward the patient treatment goals, and a decision making process between the psychiatrist and the treatment team. The average length of stay for adolescents, adults and older adults admitted to our inpatient program is 8.5 days.

10. What is the difference between Forest View Trauma Program and Timberlawn?
Both Timberlawn and Forest View Trauma Programs are supervised by and based on Dr. Colin Ross’ Trauma Model.
